Lifetime Label Test

We all know that the TZe labels are indoor/outdoor, water proof, dishwasher safe, and temperature resistant between -112 degrees and 356 degrees...but I know what some of you might be thinking, this sounds a little too good to be true. So we started our lifetime label test and ill tell you, we were not disappointed. We think you deserve to have the best labels on the market that hold true to their reputation, so we tested the good, the bad and the ugly. So on this beautiful Friday, we are telling all!

Featured here is the TZe232 1/2 inch red on white label that was soaked in water (with dish soap added) for 5 months! Yes, really 5 months. Here is what happen: the outside of the label did have a slimy film on outside, but I found that it came off with a wipe. The edges were still tact and were not easy to try to peal up. So naturally after this label had been soaking for 5 months, I felt it was necessary to put it in the microwave on high for 5 minutes. The label still remained in tact with no corners lifting or any evidence of melting.

Featured here is the TZe231 1/2 inch black on white label. This label has been at the bottom of Piper's food dish for the past few months. This dish has gone through the dishwasher several times and is constantly wet. We found no results of the label moving, and months later Piper still thinks H2O rocks!

Featured here is the TZe231 1/2 inch black on white label. This label doubles as an important reminder in case the worst should happen, and great testing subject located in the state of Maine. This label experienced all kinds of weather. Blazing sun, several feet of snow, rain, hail, you name this outside label has seen it all! I happy happy to report that the label has yet to budge from its original spot.

Featured here is the TZeS951 1 inch black on silver label, I chose to use an extra strength tape for the outside of the mailbox. While the traditional TZe tape does do the job, this mailbox had a rusty texture to it and was going to be exposed to the random and harsh climate of Maine. While label lane might not exist (and just really confused the mailman), this label stayed true and has yet to fray or peel since it has been placed.

If you have fish, been to an aquarium, or even near a lake you know they're dirty. Put to the test here is the TZe231 1/2 inch black on white label. This label started underwater but over time the water levels have gone down. This label has been covered in water, chemicals, algae, and well bacteria. So far the fish don't seem to mind the label and it has yet to move...even with a sucker-fish cleaning the sides of the tank!!

At this point in my label lifetime test I had yet to see anything to prove Brother and their labels wrong, so I thought lets really put this temperature business to the test. Getting hot is the TZeB51 1 inch black on orange label. I put this onto a baking dish and into a 300 degree oven for 15 minutes, and found that there was no evidence of melting on the label. I then placed the same label it in the microwave on high for 5 minutes, as pictured below

Finally I started to give these labels the cold shoulder and I put them in the freezer! Using the same TZeB51 label, I put this in the ice cream territory of the freezer to see if the moisture and the cold temperatures would peel or weaken the label. I found no results of any fails on the label.

In the end after numerous attempts to catch these labels failing, I was pleasantly proved wrong. They worked great, stayed on every surface attempted, and left me singing "ice ice baby" every time I wanted some ice cream.
