The PT-1890w is a sleek, contemporary mid-size handheld/desktop labeler. This model features 2 fonts, with a clear 15 character x 1-line LCD display for easy viewing. With it's built-in memory, you are able to save up to 5 labels. The “Preview” key allows you to check your text - reducing mistakes and wasted tape. The PT-1880 will print up to 3/4” wide laminated indoor/outdoor tape on 2 lines, 6 type sizes, 9 type styles. Over 70 different symbols and 10 frame styles are available to jazz up your labels.
The Brother PT-1890W uses the Brother TZe tape series and it will use the following label types:
Brother P-touch Standard Laminated TZe Tapes: Brother Standard laminated TZe tapes stick to virtually any surface and are durable enough to withstand scrapes and abrasions. Because Brother p-touch TZ tapes are water resistant, they can be used outdoors, as well as indoors. They shrug off spills of any kind; from water, to oil, to chemicals and won't fade under harsh UV rays. These PT1890W p-touch printer labels stay on through hot and cold environments from freezers to microwaves - nothing sticks like a Brother p-touch TZe tape. Brother P-touch TZe Specialty Tapes: Brother Specialty TZe tapes are perfect for different types of labeling jobs when using your PT1890W printer. The TZeFX series is excellent for wrapping around an item, perfect for labeling cylindrical surfaces such as cables, PVC piping, etc. and best suited for wire wrapping and flagging textured and hard to stick surfaces. Then there's the TZeAF tapes that contain acid free adhesive which are great for photos. Brother also has an Iron On p-touch tape, a temper evident security tape and ptouch head cleaning cartridges. Brother P-touch TZES Extra Strength Adhesive Tapes: You’ll find using Brother Extra strength adhesive labels with your PT-1890W are perfect for a wide range of surfaces as well as different types of environments. If you are looking to label rough or textured surfaces then you'll want to use this type of label. These adhesive backed labels have a stronger adhesive backing that has twice the adhesive strength than the standard tapes.
